When it comes to eloping, there are no rules, just the two of you, your incredible love, and whatever makes your hearts beat a little bit faster. For Haley and Tristian, that meant snowboards, snowy peaks, and the freedom of being outdoors in beautiful Flagstaff. Their Flagstaff elopement, beginning at the Arizona Snowbowl, was honestly incredible combined with adventure and intention. It was a great reminder that your elopement day can honestly be however you want it to be.
A Chill Morning Before Hitting the Slopes
One of my biggest tips for couples in the middle of wedding planning? Give yourself way more time than you think you’ll need to get ready. You’ll be so much happier knowing you’re in no rush and can truly be present. Haley and Tristian’s day started the way all wedding mornings should be: calm, relaxed, and full of good vibes. Haley got ready in the coziest setting, soaking up every moment instead of rushing through a packed timeline. No stress, no chaos – just intentional, joyful energy.
And can we talk about her dress? It was SO CUTEE. Flowy, beautiful, and romantic, it perfectly complements the golden grass and tall trees. Whether she was standing at the altar or cruising down the snow-covered mountains, she looked incredible.
An Intimate Flagstaff Elopement Ceremony Then Hitting the Slopes: Arizona Snowbowl Magic
Just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean it has to look a certain way. Haley and Tristian wanted something authentic for the two of them, especially planning a moment where it could be just the two of them. Haley and Tristian exchanged vows surrounded by quiet trees, cool winter breeze and their closest family in Buffalo Park. Then, once the vows were read, they celebrated the best way they knew how: by snowboarding together. That’s what I call a Flagstaff elopement! It was fun, intimate, and totally personal – exactly how an elopement should feel.
Whether we were snapping photos of them on the lift or carving down the mountain, their adventurous spirits were soaring, and they were doing what they loved together. And that’s what made it so memorable and perfect for them.
Elope Now, Party Later
One of my favorite parts about their elopement? A few months after the big day, Haley and Tristian invited guests to a cozy dinner where they could be fully present with the people they love and relive the magic of their elopement all over again. It wasn’t a full-blown wedding but a meaningful, love-filled evening. The couple set up an open mic situation for guests to give toasts, showed off their elopement film, and danced the night away.
If you’re torn between eloping and having a wedding, you don’t have to choose. You can do both in a way that feels true to your relationship while celebrating with the people you love.
Planning Your Own Flagstaff Elopement? I’ve Got You Covered..
- Give yourself more time than you think. Even a chill, low-key day goes by faster than you expect, especially when an epic activity like snowboarding is involved. Build in space to enjoy your day and be present with your partner.
- Make it about you. Whether you’re snowboarding, riding in a helicopter, hiking, or grabbing burgers after your vows, this day is about celebrating your relationship.
- Don’t be afraid to bend the rules. Haley and Tristian created something totally unique and authentic to them, and it turned out unforgettable. You can, too.
- Elope now, party later. It’s 100% okay to keep the ceremony small and host a bigger celebration down the road. The most important thing is that you and your partner get the experience you deserve, which feels genuine to you.
There’s No Right Or Wrong Way to Elope
At the end of the day, there’s no ‘right way’ to elope, just the way that feels right for you. Whether you’re dreaming of snowy vows at Arizona Snowbowl or planning an intimate backyard dinner later on, Flagstaff has all the adventure and scenic beauty you need to make it incredible.
And if you’re looking for someone to capture the wild, wonderful realness of it all, I’d love to come along for the ride. Head to my Pinterest for more Arizona adventure elopements!
